Show " League of Women Voters Complete Red China Study The Cedar City League of Women Voters will terminate a two-year study of Red China by taking a concensus among members on current U. S. Pol-ides Pol-ides toward China. The results will be recorded and sent to the National Office Of-fice in Washington, D. C. to become part of the National League concensus. The National Na-tional League will then base its future actions on the results re-sults of the concensus. Questions to be pondered at the league unit meeting this week are: What should be the objectives of the U. S. policy toward the Peoples Republic of China. Should the League support specific U. S. policies on Red China an(j if so in what direction. di-rection. (These will cover such policies as trade, cultural exchange, ex-change, travel, United Nations recognition and our present policy toward Nationalist China.) Finally members will discuss dis-cuss the question of whether the United States should take the initiative in relaxing tension ten-sion between the two countries. count-ries. The meeting will be held Thursday, today, Feb. 13, at 8 p.m. at the horns of Mrs. Robert Williams at 585 South 700 West. Leading the discussion will be Mamie Eck, Margaret Ger-ring Ger-ring and Virginia Wall. JoAnn Nugent will act as scribe. All members are being asked to make a special effort to attend at-tend and participate in this important League function. |
