Show Trustees Authorize Name Changes; Approve Dorm t A movement to change the name of Collets of Southern ' Utah received a big boost hero Thursday when the Col logo Board of Trustees approved a new name. A bill seeking the name change will be drafted immediately im-mediately and submitted to the Utah State legislature for approval. A $525,000 married .student housing complex was given tentative approval, and admissions ad-missions and scholastic standards stan-dards were liberalized in ot- her board action. Providing a second study finds financing adequate for the married student housing project, bids will bo Issued in the near future and construction construc-tion will begin this summer. Final architects plans and ; specifications for 10 units were given tentative appoval. Units to be constructed include 30 two-bedroom and 20 one-bed-room apartments. The two-story building will jo primarily of masonary and .vill be almost entirely above ground. One-bedroom units vvill include 515 square feet yf living space; two-bedroom ipartments will haave 690 j lure feet. Construction only costs are estimated at nearly $400,00 by .he architect. Total cost of the project, including fees, utili-ies, utili-ies, paving, landscaping and 'urnishings is estimated at 5525,000. In other business, the board approved revisions of Off-campus Off-campus housing regulations, approved changed in the 1969-70 1969-70 academic calendar, advanced advanc-ed George LeBaron from associate asso-ciate to full professorship, and approved erection of a sign advertising CSU near Interstate In-terstate 15 West of Cedar City. |
