Gerald Romotsky Exhibit On Display at CSU On display through Feb. 28 in the College of Southern Utah Student Center Lounge are 16 paintings by Gerald Romotsky, rising young artist from Dallas, Texas. Mr. Romotsky paints in the personal expressionistic style and has attracted wide interest inter-est to his art through his imaginative use of color and form. His subject matter is often drawn from every day life but is handled in a uniquely original manner. I Descriptively interesting ti-1 ti-1 ties of some of the paintings are: "Hail the Brave Lifeguard," Life-guard," "Game Theory," "Challenged Figure," "Young Priest," "The Time Before," and "Mr." Mr. Romotsky received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas and his master of arts degree from the University of New Mexico. He has served as an instructor instruc-tor of art at the University of Arizona and as a guest lecturer at the University of New York in Buffalo. Currently, Cur-rently, he is an assistant professor pro-fessor of art at Rio Hondo Junior Jun-ior College in Whittier, Calif. His awards for creative excellence ex-cellence in the arts include: Texas Water Color Show, San Antonio, Tex., 1954; Dallas Museum Publication awards, 1953, 1954, and I960; mural for the inaugural Exhibition, Madison, New Jersey, 1965. His work has been shown in at least 30 exhibitions. |
