NATIONAL SCOUT WEEK Schmutz Presented vith Eagle Award the Boy Scout program. In addition Scout banquets have been staged by most of the sponsoring rrganizations in addition to a District Skill-O-Ree, window displays through, out the community have also been erected by Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops and Explorer Posts emphasizing activities and achievements made through participation in Boy Scout activities. ' A highlight of the National Boy Scout Week, just passed, was the presentation of the rank of Eagle to Bradford Schmutz of Troop 347, sponsored sponsor-ed by the Cedar Seventh Ward. The presentation of the cov-1 eted Eagle award was made at the Sacrament Services of the Ward which was devoted to National Boy Scout Week and the part it plays in the- building of boys. The recipient is the son of Bp. and Mrs. Eldon Schmutz, and presentation was made by A. Richard Olds, former advancement ad-vancement chairman of the Cedar Breaks District. On hand to participate in the presentation was Scout-J master of Troop 347, Marl Judd. ' The event was only one of. several similar programs held throughout the Cedar Breaks District as a special tribute to |
