Show Matheson family holds July 4 reunion at 5 Mile Almost 150 descendants of the David and Sarah Robertson Robert-son Matheson family held their their family reunion on Saturday afternoon, July 4, at the Five Mile recreation area. Jack Matheson of Cedar City, Ci-ty, was chairman with one person from each member of the- original family serving serv-ing on his committee. Barhecued chicken with potatoes po-tatoes and onions cooked in th? Dutch oven was enjoyed by all who attended. Of the original family of 13 only three members are still living, Barbara Matheson Adams and Bess Matheson Miller of Parowan, Par-owan, and Kenneth Robertson Matheson of Goshen, Utah. Ethel S. Matheson of Salt Lake City, widow of the late Henry Matheson, was in, attendance, at-tendance, as was Libbie H. Matheson, widow of the late Bain Matheson; Joseph E. Ward, husband of the late Lily Matheson Ward and R-Taylor R-Taylor Miller, all of Parowan. Many of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren traveled trav-eled from Los Angele, Las Vegas Ve-gas and Yerington, Nev. and from northern, central and other parts of Utah to attend. An election of officer was held which resulted in Mrs. Mae Boyter of Cedar City being be-ing named chairman, and Robert Matheson being elected president of the family organ-I organ-I ization. The next reunion will I be held in July, 1972. |
