Show ' Extensive landscaping project under way to improve Cedar High School campus -i The Cedar City High School comprises 39 acres of campus, According to Rulon Woodbury, 'principal. Tliis year plans are taking shape for extensive landscape improvement and beautifica-tion beautifica-tion of the campus. About S0Q now seedling trees have been planted which were purchased from the Forest Service. They include blue spruce, ponerosa pine, popular and locus and "They are looking fine," Mr. Woodbury reports. A large grasss planting is also in progress. It calls for 13 acres of new grass in addition addi-tion to the acres of grass already al-ready on the campus. "The project we are most excited about," Mr. Woodbury reports, "is our new pump house on the east side of the campus. It will provide the irrigation ir-rigation water so necessary for our new grass and trees." The pump house has a dual purpose. It houses a reservoir and a pump. The South and West Field irrigation water will be stored in the reservoir and pumped out into the sprinkling system as it is needed. The culinary water can also be used when water from the irrigation canal is low. The reservoir is a concrete con-crete tank above ground to be used also as a settling tank and will be locked at all times for safety purposes. The new plans for the high school campus, according accord-ing the School Superintendent, also has a dual purpose. "It will make our campus more beautiful but even more important, im-portant, it will provide more recreation areas and playing fields for our youngsters," Mr. Woodbury said. "Three new ; baseball diamonds are in pro- t cess and many other recrea- ; Hon areas are planned," he concluded. |
