Show County Democrats to kickof f 1970 campaign in fund-raising banquet I Steaks will be the main feature fea-ture of the menu and will be prepared under the direction of Keith Cripps, Cedar City, in charge of the food committee. Mike Park, Cedar City, 1 chairman of the ticket committee, com-mittee, announced that tickets j Jr the dinner can be obtained i om any Democratic distric officer and are also on sale at Bulloch Drug for 35.00 per person. Persons attending the dinner din-ner are requested to bring their own dishes and eating utensils, according to the committee. Proceeds from the banquet will be used to assist both national na-tional and local candidates, according to Rex Harris, Cedar :ity, Iron County Democratic chairman. Other county officers offic-ers include Mrs. Ivan Robb, Paragonah, vice chairwoman; Mrs. Mary Lunt, Cedar City, secretary, and Clarence Miller, measurer. Local Democratic candidates running for office this fall include in-clude Dub Leigh, Cedar City, running for state representative representa-tive for Iron County; Roy P. (Pug) Urie, candidate for County Commissioner, 2-year term; Delias Imlay, Cedar Hity, County Commissioner, 4-year 4-year term; Clark Barton, Cedar City, Assessor; Arlene B. Warren, War-ren, County Recorder. The only primary contest will pit cedar City lawyers Mike Park and Orville Isom against each other in the race for County Attorney. Democratic candidates for Justice of the Peace include Haldow E. Christensen, Cedar v and Melva Barton, Paragonah. SENATOR FRANK E. MOSS Iron County Democrats will kick off the 1970 campaign with a fund-raising banquet at the SUSC College Ranch in Cedar Canyon on Saturday ; July 11 at 6:00 p.m., accord-; accord-; ing to Kumen Gardner, Cedar City, who is general chairman of the event. Senator Frank E. Moss, and Bob Nance, Salt Lake City, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from the Second District, will be special guests, and both will address the gathering according to Ken Gower, Cedar City, program pro-gram chairman of the event. A recorded message from Governor Gov-ernor Calvin L. Rampton will also be presented. |
