Show Sunday Morning Fire Destroys Main Street Business Phce j Members of the Parowan Vol- I unteer Fire Department were routed out of bed in the early hours Sunday morning to battle a fire which almost destroyed j "Bob's Place", local billiard hall, i on Parowan's Main Street. The I business was owned and operat-1 ed by Mr. and Mrs. Hob Rlggs i of this city. According to Mr. Riggs the cause of the fire has not as yet been determined. The flames were seen and the alarm was turned in at about 2 a. m. but had made such lieadway that the building and its contents was almost completely ruined. The owners have made no definite plans to rebuild the business which was reported to be covered cov-ered by insurance. Even though the fire occurred occur-red in the early morning hours, the smoke and flames could be seen throughout the community and attracted a large crowd of spectators. Smoke damage was also sustained sus-tained by two adjoining business firms, Miriam's Dress Shop and Fenton's Store, but the fire was held to the one section of the business block housing the bil-lard bil-lard hall. |
