Show Licensed Practical Nurse Course Underway at C S U A total of 18 Utah residents are enrolled in the 12-month licensed li-censed practical nursing program which began at College of Southern South-ern Utah Feb. 14. Representing 11 communities and six counties coun-ties throughout the state, the trainees include Tina Condie, Lorraine Freeman, Dianne Gub-ler, Gub-ler, Dorothy McLean, Jean Owen and Arlene Wadsworth, all of Cedar City; Karen Baudino and Lois Hatch, Milford; Ellen Best, Lynndyl; Carol Carter, Parowan; Janice Crowther, Aurora; Francis Duffy and Darlene Polvadore, Kanab; Gayle Forbush, Monroe; Connie Johnson, Newcastle; Judy Maxwell, Enoch; Betty Jean Morris, Mor-ris, St. George, and Mayonna Zu-felt, Zu-felt, Salt Lake City. The group will receive classroom class-room instruction in anatory and physiology from Dr. Russell Anderson An-derson of the CSU biology department. de-partment. Mrs. Lorraine Wilson will serve as instructor in nutrition nu-trition and first aid. Following preliminary courses the trainees train-ees will obtain much of their instruction in-struction at the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City. They will also study at the Utah State Hospital and Utah. Valley Hospital in Provo. Mrs. Echomae Gilliam is supervisor sup-ervisor of instruction for the program. Miss Ellen Anderson is instructor. The training is administered ad-ministered under the Federal Manpower Development Act. Professor Pro-fessor Melvin Roper, chairman of the CSU Division of Semi-professional and Technical Education Educa-tion serves as coordinator-supervisor of the program.. |
