Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Virginia Webster WE AK AVIES The first summer party for members of the Wo Ak Avies Club was held Friday, July 22, at the Raneho Cafe in Kanarra-ville. Kanarra-ville. The ladies and their partners part-ners enjoyed a steak dinner. Although Al-though this is the first of club activities marking the summer season, the group plans to meet for other paries which will precede pre-cede the installation banquet where Mrs. Lor in .Miles, Mrs. La-Nell La-Nell Lunt and Mrs. Iva Jones will officially take over the duties du-ties of president, vice president and secretary respectively. Dr. and Mrs. Dan Corry and childrn of Arizona are presently visiting in Cellar City with Dr. Corry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Corry, and Mrs. Corry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Macfarlane. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rollo and their daughter Kelly of Torrence, California, are in Cedar City on a ten day vacation. They are guests of Gary's mother, Mrs. Bessie Rollo. Rol-lo. A guest of Dr. and Mrs. Rymal Williams has been their daughter daught-er Cynthia's fiance, Mrs. Jim Dunaway. Cynthia, who is making mak-ing her home in Provo this summer sum-mer and Mr. Dunaway were here over the week end. Also visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Williams Wil-liams is Mrs. Williams's sister-in-law, Mrs, Grant Finlinson of Oak City, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hanson were in Cedar City prior to the July 21th holiday. They visited with friends and members of Mrs. Hanson's family. PINENUTS CLUB On Wednesday, July 20, 22 Cedar Ce-dar City members of the l'inenuts Club traveled to Knterpri.se, where they and three members from St. George were entertained at a summer "lawn party" held at the home tf Mrs. Geneva Gardner. Mrs. Gardner was assisted by Mis. Ruth Pickering who presen-, presen-, ted an entertaining review on the I life of Mrs. Stonewall Jackson, j Other members from Enterprise I co-hosting with Mrs. Gardner land helping her serve a dinner, jwero Mrs. Julie Rathliun, Mrs. oienna Van and Mrs. LaRue iDanelly. j READING CLUB .Mrs. Ronnie Hobbs was invited to give the lesson to Reading Cub members who met last Thursday at the home of Annette Betenson. Mrs. Hobbs entertain-1 ed for an hour with selections ' of poetry from the works of Robert Ro-bert Frost. The hostess was assisted as-sisted by Florence Higbee. Mrs. Bryant Beaeham and Mrs. Chas. Petty, were guests during the afternon affair. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hayes and family are pleased to have the company of Mrs. Hayes' uncle md aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bern Rose and their daughter Linda of Seattle, Washington. The Rose family are enroute to Camp Roberts Ro-berts in California where they will visit with their son. |
