Show I Belle Lemmon Dies In Kanab, Funeral Services Held Here Funeral services were held in Parowan Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Belle Ward Lemmon, 64, wife of Thomas M. Lemmon, ! who died last Saturday morning I In the Kanab Hospital after a ! long illness. Mrs. Lemmon has been living in a Rest Home in Kanab for the past two years. The services were held in the Third Ward chapel at 2 p. m. with Bishop Verl Taylor conducting, conduct-ing, and with Mrs. Itha Morten-sen Morten-sen at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Speaker in the services was Arthur Joseph, with remarks by Bishop Taylor. The prayer at the home was given by a son-in-law, Carlyle Hulet. The opening prayer pray-er was by Kendall Gurr, the ! closing one by Ancel J. Adams, and the grave in the city cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by a brother, Joseph E. Ward. The musical program consisted consist-ed of the opening song, "Sometime "Some-time We'll Understand", by a ladies' double trio consisting of Frankie Lou Bentley, Katrine Johnson, Edna Brown, Ola Robinson, Robin-son, Connie Halterman and Re-nee Re-nee Fife, accompanied by Mary-Lyman; Mary-Lyman; a musical reading by Arnold Gurr, accompanied by Ola Robinson; a vocal solo, "In the Garden" by Edna Brown, accompanied ac-companied by Itha Mortensen, and the closing song, "Now the Day is Over" by the ladies' double dou-ble trio. Pallbearers were three brothers, broth-ers, Clair, Chester and George Ward, two grandsons, Steven and Craig Hulet, and a son-in-law, Irving Munford. Flowers were carried by dranddaughters, under un-der the direction of Mable Wil-cock. Wil-cock. The deceased was born in Parowan Par-owan Aug. 24, 1901 to Parker and Mary Stevens Ward and was a lifelong resident of this community. com-munity. She married Thomas M. Lammon Oct. 5, 1921 in Beaver, and the marriage was later solemnized sol-emnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She was active in the auxiliary organizations of the church in the Third ward, serving serv-ing for many years as an officer and teacher in the Primary Association Asso-ciation and in the Relief Society. She is survived by her husband; hus-band; one son, Spencer W. Lemmon, Lem-mon, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. Carlyle (Norma) Hulet and Mrs. Irving (Mary Carol) Munford, both of Kanab; 16 graidchildren, one sister, Mrs. Pearl Russel, and four brothers, Joseph E., Clair S., George S. and Chester S. Ward, all of Parowan. F. C. Van Buren has spent some time recently visiting with members of his family in the surrounding areas. He traveled to northern Utah where he visited vis-ited with his son Gordon and family in Ogden and with his sister in Bountiful, He traveled to Las Vegas where he visited with his daughter Shirley, and family, and to Enterprise where he visited with his daughter Helen Chambers and family. |
