Show Colt League Sees Lockhart, Arctic Circle Win Lock hart and Arctic Circle picked up opening round victories victor-ies in the Cedar City Colt League as it Kt under way this week. Lockhart came up with a 2 to 0 shutout victory over Cedar Crest in a well played game on Monday for its victory and Arctic Arc-tic Circle handed Iron County Record a 12 to 5 setback Tuesday. Tues-day. Gary Gulliford picked up the victory for Lockhart in the opener, open-er, giving up only three hits. Two of those hits, however, were triples by Harold Marshall and Dale Hansinki Kevin Hunter suffered the loss as he gave up a total of four hits, including a double by Glade McArthur. Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur scored both of the runs for the Lockhart crew. Wade Roberts was on the mound for the winning Arctic Circle crew and he belted a first inning home run to add to the victory. Arctic Circle picked up six runs in the first inning of play on four hits and maintained maintain-ed the lead throughout. Holmes cf Ar'ti'c Ci""! ?'uo 'Sc'bled. The Record was held to six hits, all singles. Adams started on the mound for the Record, gave way to Dave Meyers and Wayne Esplin finished it for the losers. Bernell Thorley also saw mound duty for the winner in relief of Roberts. |
