Show Harlem Basketball Clowns Competition Scouted You haven't really aeen a basketball bas-ketball game until you have seen the Harlem Clowns basketball touring team, as they make the most out of the local townsmen. This will be the opportunity of Cedar City residents on New Year's Kight, Jan 1. as the Har-1 lem Clowns, sponsored by the! CSU Letterman's Club, perform against an all-star team. Foremost among the prominent promin-ent citizens who will test their wares against the colored basketball bas-ketball club, will be Jim "Bounce 'em up, shoot 'em from the hip," Hoyle. Other members of this fabulous fabu-lous all-tar team will be those heavy set coaching twins, Bruce I Osborne and Cleo Petty. There to assist in some real basketball phenomena will be John Wood of Parowan, Don Marshall Mar-shall and Rex Erickson, plus a host of others at least one more team to keep the hoops blasting for the local a 1-stars. For the Harlem Clowns, Man-ager Man-ager Al "Runt" Pulllns states that "clown ball Is what we call it." The performance begins with ' the warm-up and Is expected to I continue throughout the 40 minutes min-utes of play. Razzle-dazzle ball handling, intricate pass patterns, trick shooting, fancy dribbling and impromptu comedy antlca all go to make this one of the craziest shows In the business. The Harlem Clowns completed a 150 game playing season In 1958-59 and this season are expecting ex-pecting to complete over 200 games with a good share of the performance repeats of last season, sea-son, Pullins Indicated. Tickets for the show will be on sale at the door on the evening of the performance, the Letter-, Letter-, men Club members stated. |
