Show Budget Adopted A By Council. Gains Evaluated ?m The 19G0 Budget for Cedar City Jpijr of $136,000 was adopted by the Cedar City Council Thursday, Dec. 17 at the third reading, with Qir no changes made, it was an- y nounced by Mayor Arnold Ander- a a ' son. jj-jt General fund portion r.t the budget accounts for $120,475.34 of r!j which public work with a budget )kL of $102,497.42 is the major item of the anticipated expenditures. The dike will be for the purpose of protecting the proposed water line from the area Into the city municipal water supply. Request submitted by El wood J. Corry of the Cedar Stake LDS Presidency for the vacating of 515 West Street south a street not yet opened up was accepted by the council. A new Chapel is proposed in the area. A request for the supply of water to a motel to be constructed construct-ed outside the city limits by Eldon El-don Yergensen, was denied by the council. Council suggested that Mr. Yergenson have the property pro-perty annexed to the city, which woId make it mandatory that the city supply the proposed motel mo-tel unit with culinary water. Council also approved the final purchase, in January 1960, of the 13 acres of land being held in option with Leonard Bulloch for the purpose of recreational development de-velopment on the Southwest portion por-tion of the city. Option Is being held for $2500 per acre. Finally the city accepted, by reference, the 1959 National Electric El-ectric Code and convened for the 1959 year. Newly elected city council, lt was reported, will be sworn into office prior to the regularly scheduled sche-duled council meeting to be held o.i January 7, 1960. |
