Show Last Rites Accorded Victim of Air Fcrce Jet Crash Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Cedar Stake House on Tuesday afternoon for Lt. Barry Halght, who lost his life In a U. S. Air Force Jet crash in Africa Afri-ca on Dec. 6. Lt. Halght, who had been stationed In Germany, was on a routine training flight at an Air Force base in Tripoli when the crash occurred. The body was returned to Cedar City for burial. The services were conducted by Bishop Forrest Anderson of the Cedar Second Ward. Speakers Speak-ers were Udell Smith of Bountiful, Bounti-ful, Dixie Leavitt and Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth. Invocation was by Bishop Lester Gubler, St. George; benediction by Gail Duncan, Dun-can, and the dedicatory prayer at the cemetery by Frank Petty. The prayer at the mortuary prior to the services was by Therol McAr-thur. McAr-thur. The musical program Included two vocal solos, "In The Garden," and "Over the Rainbow," by Mr. Janice Olson, accompanied by Evelyn Jones; vocal solo, "When Day Is Done" by Kent Cottam, St. George, and a violin solo, "Smiling Through." by Roy L. Halverse.n, accompanied by Mrs. Jones. Prelude and postlude music mu-sic was by Mrs. Vivian Palmer. Military rites were performed by an honor guard from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Lt. Halght Is a son of Herbert P. Halght, and husband of Mrs. Elma Ann McArthur, formerly of St. George. |
