College of Southern Utah track and field men whip into shape for coming meets. Ted Garrett, hurdler, and Roe Smith, high jumper, are among promising squad members. Bronco Squad Heads For Dixie Rebel Meet Coach Bruce Osborne and his College of Southern Utah track and field squad left early this morning, Thursday, for St. George and the first dual meet of the season against the Dixie Rebels. The Broncos are sporting a comparatively well rounded squad with no particular outstanding out-standing man In any event. Coach Osborne seems to feel that his Broncos are strongest In the middle distance races of 440 yards and the half mile. A number num-ber of good high Jumpers are also on the squad, rounded out with some other good field men In Gary Mlddleton In the Javelin and others. Following the dual meet with arch rival. Dixie, the Broncos will return to prepare for the popular Brlngham Young Invitational Invi-tational Meet to be held on the Provo campus Friday and Saturday, Sat-urday, April 19 and 20. |
