Show Gilbert L. Janson Seeks Retirement From Postal Service Gilbert L. Janson, who has served as postmaster in Cedar City for the past 15 years, has submitted his resignation from the position and will retire on May 31. 1957. His resignation was submitted some time ago. but has not been officially announced an-nounced by the department as yet. j Two members of the present. Cedar City post office staff have been prominently mentl ned as possible replacements for Mr. Janson. However, the appointment appoint-ment Is not restricted to personnel person-nel already In the postal service. ser-vice. Rulon Wood, assistant to Mr. Janson, and Vernon A. Jones, clerk, who has served for many years, have been mentioned as the most likely candidates for the position. Mr. Wood has acted act-ed as assistant for many years, and Mrs. Jones was the ranking member of the staff before he entered military service during World War II. He has served continuously since returning from military dutv. I No Indication has been made bv Postal authorities as to a replacement re-placement for the postmaster. |
