Show Biederman's Captures Southern Utah Softball Crown Title Biederman's, perennial women's wo-men's soft hail champions in Cedar Ce-dar City, walked off with the title in the Southern Utah Invitational Invi-tational meet held in Cedar last week end. Six teams, one each from Beaver, Bea-ver, Minersville and Parowan, and three from Cedar City, participated par-ticipated in the three-day event, with Biederman's and Hunter Hardware-North East Furniture of Cedar City finishing first and second, respectively. Beaver finished fin-ished third, Minersville, fourth; Parowan, fifth, and Milne Truck-Thompson Truck-Thompson Office, sixth. Each tejm received a trophy at the end of the tournament. The champions, in addition to walking walk-ing off with the tournament, also received a trophy for winning win-ning the Cedar City championship. champion-ship. Four Cedar City players were selected on the all star team. Three of these, Maudell Smith. Phyllis Chatterley and Colleen Cox, were members of the title-winning title-winning aggregation, and the fourth. Mary Clark, was a member mem-ber of the Hunter Hardware-North Hardware-North East team. The tournament proved very successful, and the support of the community was greatly apreciat-ed apreciat-ed by the teams and sponsors. |
