Show Vernal Native Added To CSU Science Staff College of Southern Utah has added the services of Lawrence Cooper to the staff as assistant professor In chemistry and physical phys-ical science, according to an announcement an-nouncement by Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, director of CSU. "We are pleased to have Mr. Cooper Join us," said Dr. Braithwaite. "He comes to us with the highest recommendations and with a fine background of teaching experience." exper-ience." Prof. Cooper Is a native of Vernal, Ver-nal, Utah and has lived in Provo, Blanding and San Diego, Calif. Following an LDS mission to the Northern States he worked two years as a chemist at Geneva Steel plant. He then secured his bachelor's degree in education from the Brigham Young University Univer-sity in 1919. He has taught the physical science courses at Uintah Uin-tah High School for tiie past ten years. He received a Master of Science Education degree in geology and chemistry from the University of Utah in August this year. He studied at Utah on a National 'Science Foundation scholarship. In 1911 he married the former Inez Ruth Stevens of Barnwell, ; Alberta, Canada. They have six children, three boys and three girls. They are making plans to move to Cedar City to take up ' residence as soon as suitable I quarters are available. |
