Show Varied Attractions to Adorn Fair I Exhibits are being placed and final preparations are being made for the 1958 Iron County Fair which opens in Parowan on Saturday, August 30 and continues con-tinues through Monday, Sept 1. In addition to the outstanding premiums being offered in the various divisions of the Fair a host of activities have been planned to make it one of the biggest and largest events ever staged, according to Amasa Stones, general chairman. Leading off the activities will be the Miss Iron County contest and Coronation Ball to be staged in the College of Southern Utah ballroom Friday evening, Aug. 29 At this event six lovely lasses from the county will vie for the coveted title of Miss Iron County and the right to reign over the 1958 Fair events. Under the supervision of the Red Hill Wranglers two complete afternoons of horse races and amateur rodeo will be staged at the Parowan Race Track begin-ing begin-ing at 2:00 p. m. on Saturday and Monday. Finale of the entire three-day event will be the gigantic parade down Tarowan's Main Street Monday morning beginning at 10 00 o'clock. According to Mr. Stones between 75 and 100 floats have been pledged for this parade In addition to a number of other entries and the Parowan and Cedar City Bands. All floats, however, must be registered Saturday prior to the parade In order that a commentary commen-tary can be prepared for the parade and all prcpations made. The Iron County Farm Bureau will stage its annual Talent Find contest Saturday evening at the Parowan auditorium beginning at 8:00 p. m.
