Show Laurie Anna Burke To Wed Ronald L Mclntyre I l , w ; LAURIE ANNE BURKE Of widespread interest to many friend and relatives is the announcement by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon A. Burke, Ifiaho Falls, Idano, of the engagement of their daughter, Laurie Anne, to Ronald L. Mclntyre, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Jones, Cedar Ce-dar City. Vows will bo exchanged exchang-ed May 5 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple with a reception that evening in the Lincoln Ward Chapel. An 0x.-ii House will also be held in honor of the couple at the First Ward ii Cedar Ce-dar City on May 13. Bade to attend tho bride-to be are Mrs. Lor in C. Jones, sister sis-ter of the bridegroom, matron of honor; Beverly Burke, sister of the bride, junior maid of honor; and bridesmaids, Karol Stephens, Ste-phens, Dragerton; Pat McNeil, IVaynesville, N. C; Bonnie Da-vies, Da-vies, Shelley, Idaho; Carma Stewart, Ste-wart, Jensen; and Becky Hall, Mesa, Ariz. Douglas Gardner, Concord Calif., will be best man The bride graduated from r Bonneville High School as valedictorian vale-dictorian and was also active irt Madrigals, drama, and music. She served as a senior class honor hon-or society officer and on the Annual An-nual staff. She attended Utah State University and is currently enrolled at Brigham Young University Uni-versity and she has been active in the Sponsor Corp at both universities. uni-versities. Mr. Mclntyre graduated from Cedar City High School where he was active In athletics, drama and speech. He also graduated from College of Southern Utah ivhank Ho waa wtitftp rt f Ka school paper, president of Lambda Lamb-da Delta Sigma Fraternity and worked part-time at Radio Station Sta-tion KSUB. He then interrupted his training to accept an LDS mission to France and also to complete his responsibilities in the armed services. A student of radio and television, Mr. Mclntyre Mc-lntyre will complete his degree irt June 1962 at BYU. The couple will continue to reside re-side In Provo while they are both completing their training at BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Averett family enjoyed a visit from Mrs. Averott's brother and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hirschi; Mrs. Averott's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stuck!; and Mrs. Averett's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Richardson. They all traveled to St. George for the wedding of Miss Barbara Hirschi and Mr. Joe Empey. Miss Hirschi is the niece of Mrs. Averett. Aver-ett. Mrs. Hirschi. and Mrs. R'ch-ardson R'ch-ardson is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sutckl. The Sewing Club was held this week at the home of Mrs. Jay ThorW. After an evening of sowing and visiting, a lovely refreshing re-freshing dessert was served. President for the com-j com-j ing year is Miss Judy Lynn Jensen; Jen-sen; new secretary, Miss Jackie Barrick; the new Vice President j will be elected after school starts next fall. New officers for next year were elected bv the XI Lambda Tau Club at the college during the past week. Miss Maxine Nargle was chosen as president and Miss Daphne Cooper was elected Secretary. |
