Show Improving Business Conditions Noted in Newsletter A general upswing in business activity ts shown in many segments seg-ments of Utah's economy, but a steady upward movement rather than a boom is expected in the months ahead. That is the report of First Security Se-curity Bank's Newsletter which will be distributed this week, Fitoicis W. Betenson, manager, First Security Bank, Cedar City, said Monday. The Newsletter reports that estimated es-timated personal income in Utah for the first quarter of 1961 was $160 million, some $13 million ahead of 1960 totals. First Se-curity Se-curity notes that employment in the State's missle industries con-tiues con-tiues to rise and is row over 10,000. "Anticipated cash receipts from farming in Utah in 1961 will probably pro-bably ho slightly below the total to-tal of $15S million reported for 1960," the Newsletter says. Despite Des-pite late March snows, the outlook out-look for irregation water is rather dim in many of Utah's irregated sections. Most of Utah's mineral industries indus-tries show some improvement for the 1961 outlook, the Newsletter News-letter says. By April, industrial production had been increased to levels of a year ago.
