Show i Citizens Invited to Visit Library i During Observance of Book Week The Parowan Carnegie library is to be placed on the list of participating par-ticipating libraries in observing ' Library Week from April 16 to 22 according to Mrs. Eulala Orton, librarian. j In calling the week to the at-) at-) tention of local resident, Mrs. ; Orton asks the question: How long has it been since you visited vis-ited your public library and found there' a book of your choice? Do you know you might find a new world of interest to you? A book without a reader is in suspended animation and a library li-brary without users is dead. The bringing together of books and more people is one of the purposes of Book Week. j Come in during the week and see what we have. Bring with you your ides and suggestions to make our library more useful. Mrs. Ethel Bayles of the Paro-v.in Paro-v.in Literary Club has been placed plac-ed on the State Library Book Committee. Mrs. Jean Hendrick-j jsn. our school librarian, is the chairman of our public library board. These ladies are very library li-brary mindoj and are helping to plan some activities for us during dur-ing the coming week. Keep in touch with our radio station fur announcements and watch for posters. One of the events planned will be a visit to the library of our youngest patrons to familiarize them with the library and its rules. These youngsters of the ii'.rii nim ri Oru giautra ate piuuu i of their library cards. Those in charge look forward to helping them to enter into a richer, fuller life through books. To the older residents of the community is asked the question: quest-ion: Have you ever thought back over the time when we had no library in our community? Well there was a time and though the earnest effort of our very early citizenry our present library was built. It has been one of the finest assets of our town. Many travelers stop in while resting or waiting for car r; - j pairs and nearly always express ithe idea, "We art surprised to find this nice library with so many books." Remember this, there are certain cer-tain things only books can do. Within them are gioat thoughts jof the past, for the present and future generations. Every man who knows how to read has it in him power to magnify himself, him-self, to multiply the ways by . which he exists, to make his life full, significant and interesting, says Aldous Huxley.
