Show City Council Appoints New Member To Staff; Hears Extensive Reports At the regular meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday evening a new man was added to the city working force, a slight revision was made in the city salary schedule, and reports were heard from the city work supervisor and from the chairman chair-man of the civil defense organization. organi-zation. Clair D. Benson was employed by the city to become assistant to city work supervisor. Wood row Decker and city electrician Ross Guyman. Benson wiJl replace Clayton Tullis, who has held this position for the past year, and who was made a full time operator opera-tor at the Parowan hydro-electric plant a couple of weeks ago. Also Mayor Joseph states that I applications will be received for a caretaker at the city cemetery for the summer months, with the appointment to be made follow-1 ing the next meeting. Work supervisor Decker report-! ed that the city irrigation ditch-! es had been cleaned and that the water will be turned into them on Saturday, April 15. Owing to the cost of such a program the council advised ad-vised Mr. Orton that such a program pro-gram would have to wait until funds were available for it, probably prob-ably next year.
