Show Farewell Testimonial Scheduled for Miss Joan Nelson SISTE1 JOAN NELSOll A farewell testimonial will be held Sunday, April 1G in honor of Joan Nelson daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Orton Nelson. Testimonial Test-imonial will be held in connection connec-tion with the First Ward Sacrament Sacra-ment services and will begin at 2 p.m. Miss Nelson has been called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve in the French East Mission of the Church with headquarters in Iy-on, Iy-on, France. An invitation for friends and relatives to attend the testimonial testimon-ial has been issued by the First Ward Bishopric. Miss Nelson is a graduate from Cedar High School and has re-reived re-reived her associate degree from the College of Southern Utah. At the time of her call she was a senior at CSU in the education department. While at Cedar High she was affiliated with Suah Kahne, pep organization and the Girls' Organization. Or-ganization. At CSU she has been affiliated with the USEA Club and with Lambda Delta Sigma, religious and social organization. She graduated also from the LDS Seminary and from the LDS Institute of Religion. Prof. Vern Kupfer of the CSU faculty will be the speaker at the testimonial Sunday. Remarks will also be made by Jean K. Gibson, Audrey Armstrong and by a member of the bisopric. Responses from Miss Nelson and from her parents will also be heard. Special musical numbers will Include a vocal solo, "I'll Walk With God." by Bert Carpenter and musical slection by Shirley Jones. Miss Nelson will enter the mission mis-sion home in Salt Lake City on Monday April 21 where she will spend a week preparatory to leaving for the mission field. She will leave Salt Lake City the following Monday, via air for New York City, and from New York to France. |
