Show Juveniles Urged To Complete Safety Course I Juveniles who have not taken the required gun safety and survival training course will find winter! time a good time to do so in pre-1 paration for the hunting seasons of 1963. Utah law requires all first-tirae first-tirae juvenile hunters to show a certificate in evidence that they have completed the training program pro-gram before they may purchase their hunting license. Since this law became effective three years ago, many Juveniles have failed to qualify in time to go afield for their first hunting opportunity opportun-ity after game birds or big game. Some 3,700 adult instructors have been trained and qualified to teach the required training course, with one or more living in each community of the State. During the four years since the teaching program became effective, ef-fective, more than 60,000 Juveniles Juve-niles have been qualified to purchase pur-chase hunting licenses for the first time. i Under legislative decree the j Department of Fish and Game hase carried on this program of I instruction with valuable aslst- ance from many individuals and organizations alike. Spokesmen urged all juveniles planning to hunt for the first time In 19C3 to take the training course during winter months when outdoor activities are restricted re-stricted and instructors have more time for teaching. |
