Show Dixie Forest Slated To Receive Monies For Improvements WASHINGTON Kxpenditures at Dixie National Forest during-the during-the coming fiscal year will total $860,000, it was disclosed this, week by Sen.. Wallace F. Bennett. Sen. Bennett said a major reforestation re-forestation program is scheduled for fiscal 1963 In the Dixie National Na-tional Forest. This will include planting of 200,000 trees and development de-velopment of seed production areas. In addition, the Forest Service will establish interpretive serv-ce serv-ce In connection with the visitors visit-ors Information program In the Navajo Lake area of the forest. Fire prevention and fire control facilities will be expanded and a warehouse construction will be undertaken at Cedar City. Forest road and trail expenditures expendi-tures in the Dixie Forest will total to-tal $330,000, providing improved timber and recreation access to the national forest. Sen. Bennett has Indicated that he w-ril support the full amount allocated for national forest development, de-velopment, and has urged Congress Con-gress to act quickly on the bill |
