Show Lyman Appointment To Conservation I Committee Announced E. Ray Lyman, active business and civic leader of Parowan has been appointed to the Utah Agricultural Conservation and Stabilization Committee, according accord-ing to an announcement made the first of the week by Sen. Arthur V. Watkins, speaking for I the Utah congressional delegation delega-tion from Washington. The committee which is made up of three members is responsible responsi-ble for the conduct of major 'federal agricultural programs in Utah, including the agricultural conservation program, price support sup-port payments, acreaee allot ments and marketing quota programs. pro-grams. Other members of the committee, we understand, are J. Taylor Allen of Provo and S. J. Vean Postma, of Logan. This 'committee holds regular meet-ings meet-ings to determine Utah policies in regard to the federal program. Lyman has served as mayor of Parowan City and is now a member mem-ber of the city council here. He has been a prominent livestock raiser and farmer for many years and beore that time was an instructor in-structor in animal husbandry at the B A C in Cedar City. He has been an active worker in many business and civic enterprises in Parowan and Iron County for several sev-eral years. As a member pi the committee , he serves in a part-time capacity capaci-ty with salary limited to a maximum max-imum of 80 days a year. |
