Show leaves of Absence Granted College Educators Announcement has been made by Dr. Royden C. Braithwalte, College of Southern Utah director, direct-or, that four members of the C S U teaching staff have been granted leaves of absence, one for the spring quarter of the current cur-rent school year, and three for the 1955-56 school year. The leaves were approved by the board of trustees at the regular March meeting last week. V. R. Magleby, assistant professor pro-fessor of agriculture and biology, has been granted leave with full pay for the spring quarter to work toward his master's degree. de-gree. He has already enrolled at the U S A C at Logan. Miss Lanice Moore, assistant professor of foods, was granted leave without pay for the 1955-56 1955-56 school year, beginning July 1, and will enroll at Pennsylvania Pennsyl-vania State College to complete requirements for her Ph. D. in home economics.' Sabbatical leaves, at half pay, were granted Conrad Hatch, assistant as-sistant professor of chemistry and physical science, and McRay Cloward, instructor In business education. Mr. Hatch will complete com-plete requirements for his Ph. D.,- and is expected to enroll at Oregon State University at Cor-vallis. Cor-vallis. Ore. Mr. Cloward, also is studying toward his Ph. D. in business administration and will enter George M. Peabody College Col-lege at Washington, D. C, it is understood. The leaves were granted In keeping with the college policy of providing opportunity of advance ad-vance study to the teaching staff as rapidly as possible, in order to maintain as high an instruction instruc-tion standard at the local institution insti-tution as is possible. |
