Show Advisory Council Formed For Dixie Forest A forest advisory council for the Dixie National Forest has been organized to help formulate multiple mul-tiple use resource management policies that will serve the best interests of all the people in the Dixie Forest area. The organization organiza-tion was effected at a meeting on Mar. 18, called iby Albert Albert-son, Albert-son, forest supervisor. Community Communi-ty leaders representing major interests in-terests in forest resources and their management were invited to be present. In addition to discussing dis-cussing purposes of such an organization, or-ganization, consideration was civen to a balance of represen tation from the various communities commu-nities adjacent to the forest. With these objectives in mind the following community leaders were invited to accept membership member-ship on-this first Dixie Forest Advisory Council and to assist as-sist in its organization and plan-nings. plan-nings. Ianthus Wright, Cedar' City, Education; Elwood J. Corry, Cedar Ce-dar City, water users; Wm. A. Barlocker, St. Gebrge, business; Wm. C. Bruhn, Pangu'ltch, communities; com-munities; Eldon J. Yergensen, Cedar Ce-dar City, recreation; Leland S. Haws, Boulder, Utah, cattle; M. V. 'Hatch, Panguitch, sheep: J. H. Crofts, Richfield, timber; Robert B. Mitchell, Parowan, wildlife, and Donald Mathews, Cedar City, labor. The work of these appointees is to become familiar with the present day forest service administration admin-istration and to help correlate multiple use resource management manage-ment in a way that will give due consideration to the best interests in-terests of all of the people. Through this active, participation in reviewing problems of forest administration they will be able to explain these problems to the people, and on the other hand they will bring public opinion to the forest service for review and consideration. This inter-relationship should be helpful and tend for better understanding. Ianthus Wright, superintendent of the Iron County School District, Dis-trict, was elected chairman of the group for a two-year term. M. L.
