Show Iron County Commissioners Meet In Regular Session to Settle Issues The Hoard of Iron County Commissioners at its regular meeting hero on Monday of this week, was informed that the hills against the Iron County IJest Home have all heen taken rare of and that it can he put to use as soon as it con lo made ready. It was thought that it ini.ht he ready for opening this week hut for the failure of the linen and heddin supplies for the home to arrive. These were ordered through the Iron County Hospital and consist of sheets, pillows and cases, blankets, towels, and hath mats, which should he here any day now, after which it will he only a short time hel'me the new home can he opened. County officials offi-cials plan to hold an open house just prior to its opening with everyone invited to visit the new homo and inspect the facilities prepared for caring for the aged residents of the county. Other Matters Considered Besides the above, many mat-tors mat-tors of routine county business wore taken care of by the board which mot in an all day session Other Important matters considered consid-ered wore as follows: Representatives of the Para- gonah Town Boar. I, Revere Rob-Vinson Rob-Vinson and William Koardman, ' met with the county board to (lis- cuss the oiling of a short stretch of road running from Paragon-'ah's Paragon-'ah's main street east to the town 'cemetery. It was agreed that Iron County was to aid in hauling the necessary gravel onto this piece 'of road with Paragonah to hire (.State road equipment to do the oiling job. A similar request was heard from a delegation from Enoch, I consisting of Myron S. Jones, Mr. '.and Mrs. Willard Jones, Roland Anderson and Lola Cibson. This ignaip asked for county aid in j lay ing concrete walks along the south and west sides of the com-I com-I munit y's church grounds. The i board agreed that the county cooperate on the same basis that lit has with other unincorporated towns in the county hy furnishing furnish-ing material for the jot) providing provid-ing the residents of the town will furnish the labor. It is proposed pro-posed to lay 375 foot of 4 foot sidewalk in this manner Insurance Discussed The board discussed county insurance in-surance problems with Glen Froyd, Cedar City insurance agent, to determine the feasibility of blanket coverage of liability insurance on the hospital and the new county rest home, and the county rolling stock, including all licensed vehicles. On the recommendation of the : county road supervisor Jack Pace 'a speed limit of 15 miles per hour was established for the road over Cedar Mountain and the supervisor super-visor was instructed to place signs along this road to notify travelers of this limit. Judges of election were named for the 26 election districts of the county to handle the runoff primary pri-mary election if one is necessary to determine nominees for the various offices to be voted on at the general election in November. These people will not be called to serve unless enough filings are made to necessitate a runoff run-off election, which at this time doesn't appear likely. |
