Show One Democrat Files for County Office With the deadline for filing for nomination for county political positions only a week away, Friday, Fri-day, July 23. only one additional candidate has entered the race. Florence Benson, who is now working as a stenographer in Cedar City, filed a petition this morning as a Democratic candi-j date for the office of county re-1 corder. She is the only Democrat I to file thus far! Assuming that she will receive the nomination she will oppose Mrs. Georgia B. Mitchell, Republican incumbent, who is the only Republican who has filed for nomination. Haldow Christensen of Cedar City has indicated that he will definitely file for the Democratic nomination for county sheriff, but has not done so yet. While Democratic leaders indicate that they will have a complete ticket ! for the election no other party ' member has filed as yet. For State Representative The Republicans have one candidate can-didate filed for each of the offices of-fices to be filled except state representative. rep-resentative. However, it is expected ex-pected that Ileber Sevy, incumbent, incum-bent, will file before the deadline. dead-line. Theron Ashcroft has been frequently mentioned as a possible possi-ble candidate for the position. Cyril Pendleton of Parowan will be a candidate for a county office, party leaders report, but he has not filed nor definitely indicated which office he will seek.
