Show Heart Complications Take Life Of Dorcus Butler, 43 I MRS. DORCUS BUTLER Word was received In Cedar Monday of the sudden death of Mrs. Dorcus Butler, 43, former Cedar City resident. Mrs. Butler died in Ogden of complications from heart surgery to which she had submitted Monday forenoon. She had suffered from the heart ailment for many years but had not been In poor health, it is understood. Funeral services will be held at the Llndquist Funeral Chapel Cha-pel In Ogden, this forenoon, Thursday. Mrs. Butler had resided In Cedar Ce-dar City for about three years during which time her husband, Murray Butler, had been assigned to the Dixie National Forest staff. They left Cedar City In November, 1954 to make their home when Mr. Butler was transferred trans-ferred to the Regional Forest Service Ser-vice office at Ogden. Mrs. Butler was born on Dec. 23, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Kephart. In 1929 she married Roger Ro-ger Kennedy, who died in early 1933. On Oct. 31. 1934 she married mar-ried Murray R. Butler, and they had made their home in Ely. Nev., Salmon, Idaho, and Cedar City, before moving to Ogden. She was a member of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian Church and had been active in the affairs of the organization. or-ganization. She had been an active member of the Order of Eastern Star in Ely, Salmon and Cedar City, and also in the Parent-Teachers Association. During her residence In Cedar City she had been active in the Ladies of Elks Club. Surviving are her husband, Ogden; Og-den; a son and daughter. Roger Allan Kennedy and Suzanne1 But- ler Rollo, both of Cedar City; a grandson, her parents, Kansas City, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Martha Mar-tha McDonald, Honduras, Central America. |
