Show Nine Outside Teams Sign for Southern Utah Softball Tourney So much interest in the Southern South-ern Utah Softball Tournament has been shown by teams from surrounding towns that only one Cedar City team may get into the meet. Leo Cahoon. president of the Cedar City Softball association, asso-ciation, sponsors of the tournament, tourna-ment, announces that nine out-side out-side teams have filed applica-tions applica-tions for participation, leavine only one more entry in the ten team tournament to be filled by a local representative. There is a possibility that one or two of the applicants from other towns will not be able to participate, and such vacancies will be filled by Cedar City teams, Mr. Cahoon states. Entries for the tournament to be held on the local field on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 18, 19 and 20, include the two teams from Ploche, Nevada, Ne-vada, two from St. George, and one each from Hurricane, Enterprise, Enter-prise, Milford, Beaver and Call-ente, Call-ente, Nevada. The entry, or entries, from Cedar Ce-dar City will be determined on a team standing basis in city league play. Thus far, the Colum-bia Colum-bia Iron mining team has not been defeated, and is favored to win the city title and a place in the tournament. |
