Show Local Boys Attend BYU Music Clinic Three Cedar City boys are now attending a two week music clinic cli-nic being held at the Brigham Young university August 2 to 13, as the fifth annual summer music mu-sic course gets into full swing. Those attending the school are Douglas Knell, saxophone; Alan Seegmiller. clarinet, and Dale Perry, violin. The boys are accompanied ac-companied by A. B. Larson, Cedar City high school and Junior high school band director. Douglas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Knell, Alan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Seegmiller, and Dale is a son of Mayor and Mrs. Gronway R. Parry. All of the teachers are guest Instructors from different schools throughout the country. The guest band instructor is a music teacher at the University of Southern California. A total of 123 registered Monday In the 1919 course. The students at the clinic obtain ob-tain 3 to 4 hours of practice every ev-ery day under these leaders, and also get private instruction. From this group of students from all over Utah, a dance orchestra or-chestra will be formed, contests will be held, and prizes awarded to soloists. A band concert will climax the two week course. |
