Show Warning Issued on Check Identification Social Security cards should never be used as Identification for cashing checks. This warning warn-ing is repeated periodically by the Social Security Administration, Administra-tion, according to Sherman H. Ruesch, manager of the Provo office, of-fice, since each year a number of businessmen suffer loss based on such erroneous proof of identity. iden-tity. People who obtain Social Security Se-curity cards from the government govern-ment do so without having to establish their identity until they or their survivors present claims for benefits. Consequently the fact that a person desiring to cash a check can produce a Social Security card does not mean that he is the person named on the card, much less that he has funds in a checking account. Mr. Ruesch will be at the Utah State Employment Service in Cedar Ce-dar City on Tuesday, August 16, 1949, at 9:00 a. m. to assist anyone any-one who has any problems in re-gards re-gards to Social Security. |
