Show j Board Asks for Housing Transfer In a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners held Monday, March 15, the group drew up a resolut.on whereby they were in favor of transferring to Iron County complete com-plete control as well as ownership owner-ship of housing units that the County obtained through the Public Housing Administration, and the Home Finance Agency. A copy of the resolution is to be sent to our congressional delegation del-egation .in .Washington, D. C, stating that there is a permanent need for such housing in Iron county, ami requesting them to he in favor of legislation transferring trans-ferring complete control to the county. These housing units have been completed. H. K.Tucker of Beryl made a request to the Board to purchase the County's' tax title to parts of lots in the Beryl Townsite. It was determined, after an lnven-ligation, lnven-ligation, that the lots applied for had already been sold to K. L. McGarry, but the deed had not been Issued. A survey is being made to determine de-termine what part of the lots is now being used or which will be needed by, the county for road right-of-way, so- that it could be withheld from the deed.. A hearing will be held on a proposal to Increase the 1949 budget by $1500 to finance the appointing of, a. special deputy sheriff to patrol the range. The motion was made by Commissioner Commis-sioner Douglas. Clark and seconded sec-onded by. Commissioner Warren II. Bwlloch,' ana. passed unanimously. unani-mously. Beaver county is to- be contacted .to see if it . will participate par-ticipate again this year. . The County Clerk was instructed instruct-ed to write to J. S. Parry, manag-er manag-er of the Feature Advertising department de-partment of the Salt Lake Trlb-une-Telegram, .explaining that Iron county is not In a position to purchase advertising in the 1948 Spring Scenic and Travel Edition, but that advertising in the next edition will be considered. consid-ered. On recommendation of Commissioner Com-missioner Hugh L. Adams, who is a member of the County Welfare- Board, L. A. Burascano, Cedar Ce-dar City, and Mrs. Ethel I. Lund of Medena,. : both Republicans, we're re -appointed as members of the' Iron County Department of - Public Welfare ' for another two year term. The Clerk Was Instructed to . notify the State Department of Tubllc Welfare of this action. In another action by the Commission, Com-mission, T. Ray Robinson was re-appointed as Justice of the Peuce for the Paragonah pre-tlnct, pre-tlnct, conditioned upon his filing a bond far $500. |
