Show Lady lions Entertain At Jack & Jill Paity Thursday evening, March 17, the El Escalante hotel was the scene of a hilarious "Jack and Jill" party. About 84 guests were present with well over half the number being children. The affair af-fair was sponsored by the Lady Lions with sons and daughters as guests. The girl's dinner place was marked with miniature umbrella place cards and camellias. The boy's place setting featured clown place cards and puzzle key chains. Table decorations Included . a miniature merry-go-round that really went around, saucy clowns and gay pasteboard horses with flowing manes and tails. The program delighted the mothers as well as the children, child-ren, who ranged in age from four to sixteen years. A vocal trio composed of Glad-vs Glad-vs Isom. LaWana Riddle and Nada Gardner, accompanied by Mary Jane Seaman sang two .numbers, 'The Woman In the Shoe" and "Blue Heaven". A group of first grade students stu-dents under the direcUon of Lil-lis Lil-lis Larson, presented a puppet show, to the great amusement of all. Dawn Andrus Hunter won the hearts of young and old alike when she told the story of "Ho-i "Ho-i kus Pokus" and illustrated the characters as she talked with large chalk sketches. During the evening lucky numbers num-bers were drawn for prizes and for table decorations. Many of the youngsters went home in a happy daze with a red, white and blue horse tucked under their arms. The committee in charge of this party included Ina Givan, Mary Hasfurthcr, Beverly Carlson, Carl-son, Harriet Burgess, Edna Sargent, Sar-gent, Bessie Dover, Claudia Mac-farlane Mac-farlane and Winona Cowan. |
