Show Broncos Lose Snow & Westminster Games; Now In Second Place TEAM STANDINGS Won Lost P-H Snow 7 1 .83'J B. A. C 7 2 .777 Dixie 4 5 .411 Mesa M 3 5 .331 Carbon : 3 5 J81 Westminster 1 7 .127 O Last week end was a disastrous one for the Branch Agricultural college basketball team, Coach Ray Lindqulst'a team dropping two games, one to the Snow college Badgers Bad-gers at ( Ephralm and one to the Westmliister college Parsons at Salt Lake City. The double loss not only dumped the Broncos out of first place, but probably robbed them of a chance to even share part of the conference title. Friday night the Broncos dropped drop-ped their first league game of the season, losing to the Snow college team by a score of 58 to 38, In a game played at Ephriam. The first half of the ball game was a real thriller with the two teams nip and tuck all the way. It was a fast first half with both teams using a fast break and keep ing the ball cn the move constantly. However, the Badgers had a slight edge on the Broncos when the half-fime half-fime (run sounded with the score 22 to 20. The second half which was a much slower type of ball game,1 started out with the Badgers taking tak-ing a quick lead with a couple of field goals and three foul pitches. Then with the referees clamping lown nnd the Bronco Team trailing trail-ing quite a ways the B. A. C. was unable to get going and the Bad grrs gradually Increased their lead. When the Badgers were abcut 15 points in lead, they settled down to a possession type of ball game and stalled every minute they could flowing the game down considerably. consider-ably. The Badgers were really hot In the second half with Squires, the 3adger center, 'sloping1' hook shots in from any angle, and Hatch, a guard, connecting' from behind the loul circle. The Bronco team, trailing trail-ing and trying to keep up, were orf terribly on their shooting and just couldn't get settled down. The box score for tne game is as follows: B. A. C. The game was close throughout but the Broncos were on the long end most of the time. When the gun sounded the half way mark the Broncos had a slight edge of 21 to 19. The second half was also very close and the Broncos were riding high with a 4 point lead with less than two minutes to go when Bruce Lamus of the Parsons scooped In I WWOJSWSMSSSSSSBSSSSSM three quick baskets to give the Parsons the game and the BAC its second loss of the league season.
