Show IRON COUNTY REV CROSS QUOTA SET AT$2500F0R'4S The Iron County Red Cross Chapter's Chap-ter's quota for March, 1948 fund campaign has been set at $2500 In order to finance community programs pro-grams as well as national and inter-' national Red Corss activities for the next fiscal year, Gustive O. Larson, Chapter Chairman announced today The national Red Cross goal is $75,-000.000. $75,-000.000. Forty-six percent of the Chapter's Chap-ter's quota will be channelled to the national organization, while fifty-four percent will be used to finance local programs. Funds going to the National Red CK4as will be used to replenish funds which were greatly depleted during 1947 by the costliest year of Red Cross disaster operations since 1937 Mr. Larson said. In addition, the American Red Cross has embarked em-barked upon a National Blood program pro-gram which will eventually provide pro-vide blood and Its derivatives, without with-out charge for the products, to any one who needs them, he said. The National Blood program alone will cost an estimated $10,000,000 during dur-ing the next fiscal year. These, add-ed add-ed to its programs for veterans and members of the armed forces, international in-ternational activities and health and safety services, will make 1948 a year of great peacetime achievements, achieve-ments, Mr. Larson pointed out. Dan Crawford, County Fund Chairman, announces that the Iron County Red Cross drive will commence com-mence on March 1st, and It Is anticipated an-ticipated that it will be completed In one day. |
