Show COLLEGE CHORUSES TO PRESENT MUSICAL SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22 1 EMEKON JENSEN & !!r Following four successful performances perfor-mances of "The Messiah" the Mixed chorus for the Branch Agricultural College has prepared a semi-patriotic musical to be presented at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, February 22nd In the First Ward Chapel. This will be the first concert by the combined ladles' and men's chorus since before the war and promises to be of great interest. A part of the program will be given to "The Ballad for Americans," text by John Latoche and music by Earl Robinson, a stirring challenge to the principle of freedom. This work gives opportunity for a magnlficient bass sollst, for It was Paul Robeson that made the work famous. Emer-on Emer-on Jensen, outstanding music student stu-dent at the college, will appear in this solo Sunday, Professor William H. Manning announces. Other features will be the prayer of the opera "Cavalliera Rusticana," by the mixed chorus with Miss Vernle Anderson as soloist, and selections from the opera "Rigolet-to," "Rigolet-to," by the Chapel Singers. This concert sandwiched in between be-tween the performances of "The Messiah," and tine grand opera "Rl-goletto," "Rl-goletto," the orchestra concert following fol-lowing the opera, and about thirty assembly programs for the high schools of southern Utah and Nevada Neva-da have filled up the year with the most extensive musical program ever attempted at the Branch College. The public is cordially invited to i attend the Sunday night concert. |
