Show SLATE FOUR-STAKE CONVENTION HERE ON FEBRUARY 22 Plans are complete for a four-Stake four-Stake Sunday School Convention to be held in Cedar City on Sunday, February 22nd, with Beaver, Parowan, Par-owan, St. George and Zion Parks stakers participating, according to Loran Hlrschl, Parowan Stake Superintendent. Sup-erintendent. Five members of the Sunday School General Board, Hol-man Hol-man Waters, who will be In charge of the convention; Richard E. Fallon, Fal-lon, Executive Secretary of the Des-eret Des-eret Sunday School Union; Leland D. Monson, Melba Glade and Addle U Swapp will be In attendance. They will be assisted in music and chorister work by Wm, H. Manning Man-ning of Cedar City. All meetings will be held at the Branch Agricultural College, Mr. Hlrschl states. The first session especially es-pecially for Stake Presidencies, High Council Members, Bishops and Members of the Stake Sunday School Boards, will be held at 10:00 am. The second session for the various var-ious departments, will be held at 2 p. m. Ward Superlntendencles and teachers are requested to be in attendance at-tendance at this afternoon session. Everyone interested In Sunday School work is invited to attend. The convention theme, Mr. Hlrschl says, will be "Making the Gospel Effective In the Lives of the Latter-day Saints." "Specifically," Mr. Hlrschl says, "The discussions are to be devoted to a study of the moral behavior of our membership and the causes of low standards, If there are any, and ways the Sunday School can assist as-sist in improving the situation. Admittedly Ad-mittedly this is a big problem," he continued, "but it also is one that needs attention and one of major concern to the Sunday School of the Church." |
