Show Civil Service Has Openings In Federal Agencies C. L. Edwards, Regional Civil Service director, today announced new civil service examinations for stenographer typist and clerk, for filling positions in various Federal agencies in the state of Utah. The majority of appointments to these positions will be made at Grade GS-2, $2450 a year; however, appointments appoint-ments to positions in grades up to and including GS-4, $2875 a year may be made from the eligible eli-gible lists resulting from these examinations. Applicants for the Typist positions posi-tions must compete in a general gener-al clerical test and in an actual iperfoimance test on a typewriter. Applicants for the stenographer positions must qualify in the above tests, and in addition, must pass a stenographic dictation dicta-tion exercise given at the rate of 80 words per minute. Applicants for the clerk positions must qualify qual-ify in a written test designed to test aptitude idr learning and adjusting to the duties of the position.
