Show Guard Enlists 21 Since Last Week; Reserves Begin Calling Local Men For Exams ! K Local Unit Signs Enlistees Before August 19 Deadline Since the' 213th Armored Field Artillery Battalion of the National Na-tional Guard was ordered to active ac-tive duty 21 new men have been added to the Cedar City battery by enlistment or transfer. Several Sev-eral others have filed application applica-tion for enlistment. Among the group to enlist are seven men who were members of the reserve, including Broze Bui- locn, tourt ftelson, John A. (Don) Wood, Marlon Bratton, Wesley Chadburn, Ray M. Farley and Milt Jolley, all of Cedar City. There have been two transfers, both of whom had been members mem-bers of the Cedar City battery but had transferred to other units while away at school. They are Klien Rollo of Cedar City and John Preston Mitchell of Parowan. Paro-wan. The remaining group of enlistees enlist-ees are as follows; Kenneth, Max and David Bonzo, Drex Slack, Martin Merrill, Ralph Bland, Garry Barton, Carlyle Davis, Wm. H. Davis, Peter K. Leigh, Jack Mosdell and Charles Smith of Cedar City, and Marshall R. Aus-tin Aus-tin of Beryl. The National Guard battalion will be inducted on August 19, but will remain here for training for a week or so before leaving for a regular army training center. Reporting on Aug. 12 will be Richard Stanley Davis, former Army sergeant, Victor Matheson, former corporal in the coast artillery, ar-tillery, and Alex Angelo, former Sergeant. Angelo is now at Grand Canyon, Ariz. Reporting to the Arizona base on Aug. 16 will be: Tony Lambert, Lam-bert, former sergeant In the Infantry; In-fantry; LaVee Peterson, former private in me coast aruuery; wic-dell wic-dell Matheson, brother of Victor, former private, and Max F. Hamilton, Ham-ilton, former sergeant In the Infantry. In-fantry. Broze Bulloch and Court Nelson, Nel-son, received their papers from the reserve, but they have both enlisted In the local battery of the National Guard, which will be inducted Into Federal service ser-vice on August 19. Ed Hale Southwick has had reserve papers sent to him here in Cedar City, but he Is now in England serving a mission for the L D S church.
