Show Cedar City Boys Compete at Salt Lake Fair Throe Cedar City youngsters. David Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brown; LaMar Graff, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. L. Graff, and Ken Esplin. son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Esplin left Wednesday for Salt Lake county where they will compete today in a crop judging contest at Jordon high school in connection with the Salt Lake County Fair. The boys became eligible for the trip last April when they won a judging contest during the BAC field day. Ninth graders at the time of the contest, the boys competed com-peted with FFA members from high school throughout southern Utah. This summer, the boys have made trips to grain fields and weed patches in the county in an effort to brush up on their plant lndentification. As well as the field trips, they have studied specimens spe-cimens of dried plants and have studied pictures of plants, thus completing their knowledge of all different phases of identification. identifi-cation. Elmer Cox, Cedar City FFA advisor, 'has supervised the summer sum-mer work of the three boys. |
