Show SPOTLIGHTING UTAH New Photos of Famous Scenic Spots. Utah's natural scenic wonders .which are rapidly becoming nationally na-tionally and internationally famous fam-ous have had their picture taken again. In order to keep on hand a supply of new and interesting views a campaign has been carried car-ried on thru many weeks by the Department of Publicity and Industrial In-dustrial Development under the direction of Commissioner Rulon S. Howells to build a new stockpile stock-pile of Utah pictures. Every section of the state has been in- nuwu lit 1 1 it tviuic iavui juu, Canyons from Logan on the north to Zion and Bryce In the south; national parks and monuments, national forests with their "sky line drives," lakes, fishing streams, agricultural and industrial indus-trial activities have all been pictured. The pictures will tell in a new way the fascinating story of Utah, her scenic attractions, attrac-tions, wealth and resources. Reseeding Project Under Way in Garfield County. Livestock men of Garfield County cooperating with the Na- tional Forest Service have developed devel-oped a project which will reaeed around 20,000 acres of land located lo-cated off Bryce Canyon highway between the head of Red Canyon and the Bryce Canyon Airport About half of the area will be powed and then the seed will be drilled in. The other half which is made up of the rocky ridges and steeper slopes will be treated treat-ed with pipe harrows and the grass seed will be broadcast. The entire area will be divided into sections and completely fenced so that the livestock can be easily eas-ily handled and grazing regulated. regulat-ed. During the three years necessary nec-essary to get the new grass firmly firm-ly established no grazing will be allowed in the area. Fish Meal From Utah Fish. A new industry still in its experimental ex-perimental stages has been established es-tablished on the shores of the Deer Crek Reservoir near Charleston, Charles-ton, which will make fish meal and fish oils from the "Trash" fish found in Utah lakes and reservoirs. res-ervoirs. The new company is known as the Utah Processing Company. Their $60,000 plant Is capable of handling ten tons of trash fish per hour. The machinery ma-chinery consists of large rotary steam cookers, pressers, dryers and grinders. The trash fish are removed from the lakes and reservoirs res-ervoirs by seining. Already more than 100 tons of such fish have been taken from Strawberry Lake. The finished products will 1 find ready sale both in and out of the State to fish hatcheries, feed mills, soap manufacturers, etc. i i |
