Show Hurricane Names Peach Days Queen, Program Mrs. Nathella Wood was named nam-ed by three Judges to reign as queen during the annual two-day two-day Hurricane Peach Days fete, set Friday and Saturday, August 27 and 28. Selected as Mrs. Wood's attendants were Miss Alice Hoyt. Hurricane, and Miss Annetta Tanner of Washington. Planned on a county-wide basis ba-sis this year, the celebration will be one of the very finest Peach Day observances ever held in the southern part of the state. Feature Fea-ture attractions planned are the rodeo sponsored by the American Legion Sterling Russell Post No. 10, boxing, dancing and fruit and handiwork exhibits. Rodeo stock will be furnished by Lb Davis, Las Vegas, and cash awards are planned for all events. The fete will get underway Thursday evening with an opening open-ing dance, with Rodeo, Exhibits rsCr . " 'f V RULON WOODBURY and boxing are scheduled for Friday Fri-day and Saturday. A big county-wide county-wide parade is on docket for Saturday Sat-urday evening. Fruit will be on display in the basement of the Leglou building build-ing and at the Hurricane high school will be exhibits of canned fruits and handiwork. All exhibits ex-hibits are expected to surpass last year's elaborate displays. |
