Show Knife and Fork j Club Slates Opening Meeting The Escalante Knife and Fork Club will hold its opening meeting meet-ing of the season on Thursday, September 23rd with Kumar Cos-hal, Cos-hal, famed Hindu author and lecturer, speaking to the subject "India and World Peace." Club officials are still negotiating negotiat-ing for other outstanding speakers speak-ers whom they feel will continue the high standards set by speakers speak-ers during the first year. Others already contracted for include Major Paul Cyr on October 25 who is one of the American army's most adventurous spies, and Dr. Gerald Wendt, one of America's leading scientists who will appear here Nov. 30 discussing discus-sing the subject "The Parade of Science." Robert Kazmeyer, commentator com-mentator on European and Russian Rus-sian affairs, will appear before the club at a later date as will Ismet Sanli, Turkish women lee-tuter, lee-tuter, and probably John Temple Graves II, who Is America's most wide read Southern newspaper columnist. Negotiations are also being made to produce George II. Henry, widely sought for speaker on educational matters. L. N. Marsden, club president states that all but fifteen of the original charter members of the dinner group are continuing their membership this year. This number from the waiting list have been invited to join In order to keep the membership at full strength. Other officers of the club are Albert Albertson, vice-president; vice-president; D. C. Dix. secretary; Warren II. Bulloch, Dr. F. B. Parkinson, Park-inson, Dr. II. Wayne Driggs, P. M. Bothers, Wm. H. Manning, and Durham Morris, directors. |
