Show OGDEN CITY. Rendition of a Three-Act Drama at the Academy. On Friday evening the senior boarders of Sacred Heart academy pleasantly surprised sur-prised the other inmates of the convent by a presentation of the delightful three-act three-act drama. "Rebecca's Triumph." The part of Rebecca, the heroine, was taken by Miss Alary Donaghy, with a truly re-I re-I markable case and grace, but indeed n I was well adapted to the character of our "sweet girl graduate." The strong personality of Crazy Mag was portrayed with i eal dramatic talent by Miss Judith Rice, who was heartily applauded by an enthusiastic' audience, while the home-like grace of airs. Delaine De-laine (Miss Lizzie Kenney) quite took our hearts by storm and was admirably contrasted con-trasted with the proud hautiness of Mrs. Rockman, a character well brought out by Miss Nellie Cannon. The clever delineation of Clarissa, the spinster, by Miss Sadie Maguire, was greeted with a storm of applause, but we trust that her aptitude for "single blessedness" will not accompany her through life. The real artlessness and ready wit of Kate, the Irish girl, were irresistibly presented pre-sented by Miss Clara G'Connell. to "whom indeed we can only say. "Sure. Clara, anu you're a darjint." , As for Gyp, the darkey. Miss Nellie Hall certainly deserved the sincere praise which she received; indeed, her capacity for acting was only surpassed by her selt-elaimed selt-elaimed popularity among the strong sex. ,The fresh gaiety of the" "Cooking club." a bevy of graceful, pretty girls, led with a delightful lack of self-consciousness by Miss Anna Ryan, formed a very pretty background, as it were, for the plot of the play. We must congratulate Miss Anna Maguire, Ma-guire, now taking the post-graduate course, on her success in training and the ingenuity she displayed in the disT tribution of characters, as each girl was well adapted to the part she took. Since the dramatic talent of our schoolmates school-mates finds such an agreeable outlet in private theatricals, we sincerely hope to :ijoy many more such pleasant evenings. MISS DAISY MAGINNIS. C.
