Show EMPEROR WILLIAM HAS CHANGED HIS VOICE SINCE THE OPERATION f Berlin. Nov. Emperor Wiliiam has changed his voice, modulating it so as to i reduce th" pressure on the vocal chords. He now speaks in a somewhat lower pitch, his utterances resonating aeiainsC the cavities of the mouth. , He has not vet trained himself fully and he may take the services of a teacher so that he can apply correctly the method taught in voice culture. His throat specilists have explained to him the theory of voice pro- i duction, which he has practiced with i considerable success. The emperor heretofore here-tofore has been using his larynx in the ordinarv fashion, that is. expelling the air against the chords without counter-pressure counter-pressure produced bv a rebound from the resonating cavities. It will be possible, when the emperor's voice is trained completely, com-pletely, for him to speak easily, more clearly and longer without the slightest injurious strain. The chords will be able to carry quite as far or even farther. The emperor's advisers have accepted the theory of Dr. H. Holbrook Curtis of New York, which has been made famil- , iar to the German physicians by Professor Profes-sor H. Krause, the throat specialist wh' attended the late Emperor Frederick. 1'rot'essor Kraus-e believes that several listas-3 can be obviated and in some instances in-stances cured by using the voice sci n- I tii'ically The official announcement that the emperor em-peror had ! pun a coarse of voice culture cul-ture was contained in the following bulletin: bul-letin: "New Palace. Potsdam. Nov. 2o. IP1''". "The surgical wound on tile lett vocal chord has bee i scarred over since Nov. 1!. His majesty, the er.teror and kint:. will still require careful use of his voi -e for a considerable time, until the scar becomes sufficiently lirm. "His majesty is now ur.ilcrs'un massage mas-sage treatment of the larynx along wi'h voice exercises. His majesty probably will recover the entire use of his voice within a few weeks. (Signed!
